Malachite is a copper carbonate mineral, because of this it is mined for its copper content, so sourcing raw, carved or specimens of Malachite means it achieves a high price. This stone was loved by the Egyptians, with it being used for makeup, decoration and decorative purpose right up to present day. Malachites name is from the Greek word “Mallache” meaning greeN. The colour matches the beautiful green spot in a Peacock 🦚 feathers.
